How do I return an item?

30 Days - No Questions Asked.

• No Hoops To Jump Through.

• Frames are refunded the full amount minus the shipping cost if you had any.

• Exchanges are proccessed for the cost of Priority Mail shipping.

Unfortunately, lenses can not be refunded because they are custom made.

• If you return within 30 days of receiving the item we don't charge a re-stocking fee.

• Simply e-mail or call 800-808-0895 for instructions.

• Because we have the internet's most liberal return policy, please allow up to 60 or 90 days

Unfortunately, because LaFont and J.F. Rey frames are imported directly from Europe, we can no longer accept returns for Lafont and J.F. Rey frames.

We understand that returns are an important concern for you and we do everything possible
to make the experience a positive one.

If you wish to try more than one style and possibly return the other
please limit the order to two frames and call us first; we can help you narrow the choices.

About eyeglass.com

In 1995 eyeglass.com was born by a company formed by Dr. Robert J. Morrison and his son Jim (the current President of eyeglass.com, not of the Doors). Dr. M. is the Co-patent holder of the soft contact lens and the Eye Doctor to royal families and movie stars as well as a Professor of both Ophthamology and Optometry.

Jim holds five patents related to the design and manufacture of frames and lenses, but is mostly obsessed with the company goal, "Glasses shouldn't cost so much!?!".

Here are some articles about the company: Company Press. and Jim's Novel "Nobody" and a quirky article about Dr. M and Jim( page 1 page 2)"

eyeglass.com was the first real optical site on the net and recipient of many awards. Today it is a company devoted to providing fun, hard to find and low cost product over the internet.
We'd love to hear from you, call anytime or stop by our showroom in Sarasota, FL.

How do I get the best frame fit for my new eyeglass frames?

Simply copy down the numbers from the frame you are wearing.

The size numbers usually look like this: 50/19 145

You will find the numbers on the inside of the temple arms or the back of the bridge between the lenses.

After you have selected a frame(s) and clicked the order button, you will find a space for your old frame numbers. If you would like your new frame to be smaller or bigger than your old one, write smaller or larger after the numbers.

That's it!

But, what do those numbers mean? The frame size is not your head size, like a hat or shoe size. The first number(e.g. 50) is the measurement of one lens in mm, the second(19) is the distance between the lenses, the third (145) is the temple arm length. The size numbers vary according to style and overall frame design. It is possible for you to have a frame that has a 52 lens size and another with a 48 and they both fit. These numbers are not precise, they are meant as a guide for an Optician.

So, please leave it to us, we actually like interpreting the numbers to make the right match. Most of our frames have new lighter adjustable materials, spring hinges, adjustable nose pads and bend-able temples, so they are simple for an Optician to adjust! In fact many frame companies now only manufacture in one or two sizes (unlike years ago when they came in 6 sizes and were built like artillery)

If the numbers are worn off, you can use a ruler to measure end to end,as shown below. Measure across the front of the frame from it's widest points - where the temples attach. A typical measurement is 5 inches (127mm) for a small frame, 5 3/4 inches (146mm) for a large frame. Enter this number in the "Old Frame" space on the order form.

Why Order From Eyeglass.com?

We have found many people are cautious about buying over the internet so we have made it our goal to address those concerns.

We have been on the internet since 1995.

We are focused on Eyeglass.com – it is even the name of our company. In other words we are not a retailer experimenting with online optical sales. We have an office and a showroom that you are always welcome to visit in Sarasota, FL.

We publish all of our prices, shipping costs and return/exchange policies. Most of our prices are rounded to the nearest dollar, we don’t like silly pricing gimmicks any more than you do.

We subscribe to a third party rating system that polls our customers voluntarily . Since we really don’t like confrontation, complaints and unhappy customers; we do everything possible to receive positive responses.

We have an 800# (try getting a hold of someone at an Amazon, eBay or other retailers). Of course we prefer e-mails but we are here, alive and well! We are for real. Imagine an internet company with an office, employees and even a coffee maker.

We strive to have the lowest/fairest prices. Occasionally we hear about lower prices but they are usually accompanied by high shipping/return fees or are from retailers experimenting in the business who tend to come and go leaving customers in the lurch.

We survived the dot-com crash by focusing on customers and providing what they wanted at unheard of prices. You’ll notice that we have many items that just can’t be found at typical optical stores. We get e-mails from people asking for say, round frames, so we try to find them and put them on our site. It’s not that hard and we like the hunt!

Dr. Morrison, Chairman of our advisory board, insists that we only use optical quality frames and superior lenses. But, even more importantly, every Rx is reviewed by a licensed optician. We don’t just fax the Rx to a lab and ship it out.

Each Rx is reviewed to make sure the frame and lens combination is correct and the lens type appropriate. The lenses are then checked for power and accuracy before and after they are inserted in the frame. And finally we have a careful final inspection protocol that assures the best possible outcome.

Eyeglass.com has been on the web consistently since 1995. We are very proud to have a repeat order rate 5 times that of the industry average.
